Abstract
  • This project was designed to enable church members to evaluate the power of money and possessions in their lives and to contrast this with the compassionate way demonstrated by Jesus. Members of the Christian Church were invited to participate in a two-day retreat to consider how the Christian understanding of compassion can impact our use of money. The report discusses the importance of money in contemporary life, the teachings of Jesus regarding money, and the biblical and psychological impact of compassion. The report outlines the methodology employed in the retreat and evaluates the theological foundations of the project.
