  • Pets, as beloved creatures of God, have the ability of moving us beyond ourselves in caring for another, and becoming a pivotal relationship from which we reach out to another person for a true sense of belonging. It is my intent through this program, Pet & Pray: The Transforming Power of Communion and Grace Through God's Beloved Creatures, by way of surveys, group social gatherings, prayer, sharing, instruction, catechesis, social science data, and theological reflection to bring about in each participant a measurably deeper awareness of God's grace present and working inter-connectedly through his creatures. The conclusion drawn from the program was a measurably greater love of God and connection with community.
