Abstracto

This project uses surveys and an interactive/evaluative approach to research the decisive factors in the conversion process of international students enrolled at the University of Hawaii (UH) in Honolulu during the Fall semester 2000. It also includes an assessment of existing programming of the Southern Baptist Convention North American Mission Board International Ministries at UH, and suggestions for future ministry strategies. The purpose of the research is to find out if, and why, students from varying geographic regions and/or cultures respond differently to the person of Jesus Christ and Christianity in general. What influences their attitudes toward Christianity? What factors attract them toward or deflect them away from Christianity? Do the existing programs of International Ministries at the UH help or hinder their consideration of the claims of Christianity?
