Abstract
  • The thesis is that the Mennonite Church in Zaire (CMZ) can become self-supporting through an appropriate program. Four questionnaires were responded to by 64 Zairian Mennonites and 10 Mennonite missionaries. Historical research was done at the Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission (AIMM) headquarters in Elkhart, Indiana. Used also were interviews, missiological writings, biblical research, and the writer's missionary experience. The result was a program of teaching biblical stewardship in the context of Zairian culture and AIMM partnering with CMZ to phase out financial subsidy, to encourage biblical giving, economic development and indigeneity of its progress.
