Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to educate church leaders, including church staff,as to the needs of deaf members. The foci of the project were two mainstream strategy planning sessions which provided for deaf-hearing dialogue and cooperative ministry planning. The deaf and hearing were tested before and after the two sessions to test any increase in agreement between the two groups of need priorities. The deaf group's priorities served as a control for the experiment. The dialogue sessions yielded an overall 1 percent increase of agreement between the deafs' priorities and those of the hearing.
