Abstract
  • The purpose of the project was to help the church and its pastor discover the benefits of in-home pastoral visitation. Goals included: to determine attitudes of parishioners towards pastoral visitation; to analyze the pastor's role in visitation; and to evaluate referrals made after visits. The biblical, theological, and historical foundations of pastoral visitation were examined. The program of visitation was described and results analyzed. The project concluded that pastoral visitation is not optional; resistance to visitation is resistance to pastoral calling.
