- Abstract
- This project proposes that the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches no longer adheres to the historical doctrine of nonresistance in war which has been one of the distinctive elements of Brethrenism. The method of research is that of an in-depth study of the history of the doctrine of nonresistance within the Brethren Movement and by a written survey taken by both the ordained ministers of the FGBC and by the attenders of the Grace Brethren Church of Longview, Texas. The research has shown that the FGBC no longer practices historical Brethren nonresistance but instead has adopted a noncombatant participation to war.
