- Abstract
- Churches of every size make decisions. This project focuses on the need for worship space at Woodland United Methodist Church and the method of learning and decision making which took place using a form of Participatory Action Research. The report explores the value of the church becoming a learning community as a means of discernment. The theoretical insights, findings, and discoveries examined in this project include the practice of communal pilgrimage, the meaning of discernment within the context of a church congregation, and the value of collaborative learning as a means for discovering consensus and clarity related to the decision of worship space.
