Abstract
  • This study examines part-time and multi-vocational United Methodist pastors pursuing discipleship together in a rural Appalachian setting, and whether working together is a natural byproduct of developing such a group. It explores the value of a peer cohort as a community building tool that supports and edifies pastors’ discipleship and their respective ministries. It was discovered that intentional invitation and optional gatherings (versus mandatory) are key to spiritual growth, fellowship, and connectionalism.
