- Abstract
- This project employs the metaphor of servanthood to challenge a congregation to appropriate a new self-identity, enabling it to reach out to the world. Intentional worship and preaching coupled with guided processes of public dialogue and activity lead to increased mission enthusiasm and participation. A theological principle of change emerges, building on symbolic reframing of congregational identity in worship and on participatory processes of planning and appropriation.
