Abstract
  • The author's adaptive church growth model was to ask the Argenta United Methodist Church Growth Committee three questions: What is their church? What is their community? What is their church growth strategy? Over eight meetings they developed a church growth strategy for their local church for 1999. In 1999 their worship attendance declined. This paper explores what happened and why, discussing what is church growth, and the issue of success and failure in pastoral ministry.
