Abstract
  • This research utilized semi-structured interviews to discover how God enables Christian leaders to deal with and overcome failure. By synthesizing four disciplines--narrative/story integration theory, biblical narrative theology, leadership development theory, and attribution psychological theory, a significant relationship emerges between principled story (the dynamic process from retelling to restorying of one's life in Christ) and Christian leader's experiences of overcoming failure. This study produced an integrative model and new construct and lays the foundation for a postmodern theology of overcoming leading to the possibilities of a new church leadership model, new biblical counseling model, and new narrative preaching method.
