  • This project suggests that Holy Communion can be used as a means for reconciliation and renewal within Christian families by extending Holy Communion, which the family celebrates with the congregation, into the home. The importance of meals, of family, and evidence for the early Christian practice of extending Holy Communion into homes are discussed. Fifteen liturgies for use at family meals and based on language from the liturgy of the public service are offered as an example of how Holy Communion might be extended into the home.
