Abstract
  • The purpose of this doctoral project was to develop a strategy which the First Baptist Church of Mason, Ohio, could enact to facilitate ministry and evangelism. A team of twelve volunteer leaders was chosen to study the demographics of the church and community, as well as ministry concepts that work. They then developed a ministry strategy with a new vision/purpose statement and a target person personality profile. They also created goals for improvement in six areas of concern. These areas were building and grounds, organization and ministries, outreach and publicity, hospitality, visitation and follow-up, and integration of new members. The result of this project was that the church went from being an inwardly focused church to a community-focused church. Spiritual, numerical and ministry growth were spurred on by this new vision for ministry.
