  • Power of the ordinances to strengthen a common identity and mission for the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches
Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to discover the symbolic and transformational power of the ordinances of triune immersion baptism and threefold communion to strengthen a common identity and mission among the people and churches of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches. Data is drawn from examination of selected exegetical, historical, theological, and sociological literature and from two surveys given to a sample of participants and ministers in the FGBC. A clear understanding of the purposes, lessons, and communication of the ordinances can lead to a stronger sense of identity and mission for the Fellowship.
