Abstract
  • This project is a proposal for 1) rethinking ecumenism in the context of the Korea Evangelical Church and 2) a curriculum for Korea Evangelical Church pastors. Its purpose is to begin a denomination-wide discussion on ecumenism in the KEC through the design and implementation of an educational proposal on the ecumenical movement. This project contributes to the establishment of a firm theological foundation for KEC ecumenical participation. It provides a theological critique of some of the anti-ecumenical arguments among the KEC and Korean churches and analyzes the reasons why the KEC withdrew from the KNCC in 1961. It provides insights for rethinking ecumenism so that the KEC can become involved in the ecumenical movements in Korea and in the world.
