Abstract

The purpose of this project was to equip selected leaders of First Baptist Church De Soto, De Soto, Missouri, with essential mentoring skills. The project was completed by meeting three project goals. The first goal was completed by researching the field of mentoring and identifying essential skills for mentor training. The second goal was accomplished by developing a curriculum designed to equip leaders of First Baptist Church De Soto, De Soto, Missouri, in mentoring skills. The third goal was accomplished by equipping selected leaders of First Baptist Church De Soto, De Soto, Missouri, in essential mentoring skills. Leaders were equipped through five sessions over a single-day workshop. Several evaluation metrics were utilized to ensure the project goals were met. Evaluation metrics, including expert evaluators, rubrics, pretests and posttests, and surveys, were used in the project. Two professional goals were also established. The first goal was to increase knowledge in mentoring, and the second was to enhance skills in curriculum design.
