- The purpose of this project was to lead the church council of New Zion Baptist Church to develop a new philosophy of ministry based on the principles of Total Quality Management. In this project the participants identified a population segment whom they sought to reach through high quality ministries. They examined the mission of the church and organized its ministries around its purposes. They identified their own spiritual gifts and discovered ways for using gifts to facilitate quality in ministry. The participants surveyed the ministries, and facilities of their church for areas in need of quality improvements, and developed a plan for making necessary upgrades. Finally, they examined methods for making plans based upon statistical data rather than church tradition.
