Abstract
  • The project evolved from the question: How should ministers of Oklahoma Christian Union churches handle the differences that arise in connection with the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints? This project asserts that when the differences are analyzed and understood and the lines of convergence are observed, the differences are of such minor importance in producing salvation and developing Christian character that preaching and teaching either of the opposing views as a doctrine needed in the Church should be avoided. The validity of this hypothesis is supported by interviewing Oklahoma Christian Union ministers and by comparing concepts of Calvinist and Arminian theologians.
