Abstract
  • This paper examines a perceived lack of discipleship within a typical rural congregation of the Church of Scotland. The theological, historical and cultural factors in this phenomenon were first examined. An ethnographic research project was then undertaken, with the usual consents and approvals, by Focus Groups before and after participation in the Renovaré Life Streams course by thirty members of the congregation in four study groups. Their participation brought about a deeper awareness of spiritual formation, and prompted further development of this issue within the congregation.
