Abstract
  • The task of preaching is a significant part of the pastor's ministry in the church. With that in mind, I undertook this project to explore how to incorporate various kinds of preaching. The three-fold goal was to develop a biblical philosophy of preaching, preaching planning, and to create a process for long-range planning that incorporates the preaching of the whole counsel of God. The project argues that biblical preaching must intentionality and accurately incorporate the entire scriptures in the process of making disciples, and proclaimed in the context of public preaching and teaching. The project identified eight issues that help clarify the individual local context of preacher and audience, and also a taxonomy of preaching in three categories was developed: related to the text; related to theme or focus of the message; and related to delivery.
