Abstract
  • A comparative case study of three Manhattan, New York churches that have developed joint business partnerships with for-profit corporations to address old facilities in need of repairs or renovation beyond their financial capabilities, this study reviews the history of U.S. center city churches and the negotiation process as it relates to church/business partnerships with particular attention to the Harvard Negotiation Project and its methodology. The study reviews theological issues and questions integral to the decision making process related to church/business partnerships and concludes with learnings from each case and recommendations for further study.
