Abstract
  • The syllabus is designed for teaching the theology of Luther and Calvin in a way that will maximize its relevance for students with a traditional tribal background. Thus, the Reformers' biblical-theological schema of Creation-fall-redemption- Consummation becomes the basic outline for the choice of texts. Additional criteria of selection are specific matters, such as evil spirits. The outlook of the Reformers is compared and contrasted with the cultural and religious context of Indonesia, which in the churches includes modern Western theology. Each text has a historical introduction, a commentary and explanatory notes.
