Abstract
  • There are in Ghana today several different and unrelated forms of healing being practiced, including western medicine, faith healing, traditional/herbal medicine, and pastoral care and counseling. This pluralism raises questions and problems for a society that believes in holistic healing. The Presbyterian Church of Ghana is called to consider the integration of the various forms of healing known and practised in Ghana. This project looks at the historical development of Christian healing in the Church compared to the Akan concept of health, sickness, healing, and wholeness and their relation to salvation in Ghanaian perspective, in order to make a meaningful impact in health care delivery to Ghanaians.
