Abstract
  • This qualitative project was based on the premise that creative liturgy and rituals in public worship settings can be a means of helping young adults more openly acknowledge varieties of loss and transition. The author examined biblical, theological, cultural and developmental approaches to loss and grief; interviewed college students, individually and in groups; and gathered input from other college chaplains with regard to how they provide pastoral care through public worship. The final of the research was a detailed resource notebook of services and rituals, tied to the academic and liturgical calendars.
