Abstract
  • Women's progression in achieving leadership positions is relatively small in number. This thesis will explore the sociological, historical, biblical and theological reasons that unequivocally discourage women from using their ministry gifts of teaching and preaching the Word of God within the context of the church. The author used two surveys and a hexagon focus group to gather data. The results were: Women of different ethnicities, educational backgrounds, ages, denominations and non-denominations have in common the same or similar obstacles to overcome in order to preach and teach to the whole congregation as their male counterparts.
