Abstract
  • The thesis of this project is that by placing the individual pastor in a small group setting, engaging in Scripture, prayer and reflection on a defined, intentional and continual basis, he/she will be enhanced in spiritual renewal, growth and felt presence with God. The method of study was qualitative, using a small group structure of four pastors in the United Methodist tradition. It applied the use of interview, journal, and questionnaire. The results showed a marked improvement in the perceived awareness of one's felt presence with God. It resulted in stated improved spiritual renewal by the pastors and in improved proclamation of the Word.
