  • This project concerns itself with the consideration of four important elements in theological field education for Master of Divinity students: 1. theological reflection and the maturing of the faith perspective of the student minister; 2. the psychological dynamics of the student minister and the persons receiving the ministry; 3. the sociological realities of the settings in which the ministry is situated; and 4. adult learning theory and its relevance to models and methods of supervision in theological field education. The basic unit of clinical pastoral education of the Canadian Association for Pastoral Education and the 2+1 Training Action Program of Canadian Urban Training for Christian Service have been examined in the light of these four components for their usefulness for theological field education.
