Abstrato
  • Fowler's faith development theory provides a format for understanding the needs of heterogeneous congregations. The project illustrates how a stage 5 modal level of aspiration among church leaders can encourage a church to serve the needs of people as different developmental stages simultaneously. Church leaders who can reliably identify an individual's stage of faith, and who speak multiple 'languages of faith,' can adapt their ministries of discipleship, evangelism and pastoral care to effectively meet each individual's needs. Evidence for this approach is provided from both the strategies of modern seeker-targeted churches and the traditions of incarnational theology in Anglican thought.
