  • Complex 21st century life does not encourage time for quiet reflection and prayer. This project focuses on the creation of an oasis for busy lives by reclaiming the garden's sacred place in church design as quiet center for nurture and renewal. In this paper sacred place and the impact of a central oasis garden on the life of a particular congregation are explored. Written reflection and interviews with six people provided data gathering. The result is a recommendation to include a garden in campus design as a sacred place for the quiet life before God.
