Abstract
  • This project analyzes the impact of an aging society on congregations and divinity schools. It considers specific ways by which congregations can better serve the needs and use the experience of the elderly in their administration, pastoral services, educational programs, and community ministries. The project examines the responsibility of divinity schools to integrate aging concerns into the theological educational and professional training of ministers and other church leaders and proposes an aging center as one model for the divinity school to consider. Suggested institutional responses to the reality of aging are placed in theological and moral context.
