Abstract
  • The best way to bring about revitalization in a particular church is through the congregation's discovery that God is calling them in a new direction. People who learn to name their encounters with God- the places where their story and God's intersect- will increasingly be able to live their lives in grateful response to the promises and demands of God. The author examines a congregation's history and world-view, concluding that those who remember God's presence in the past are more hopeful about encountering it in the future.
