Abstract
  • The author sought to provide practical ways the church can support the adoptive family. She researched the understanding of adoption from a biblical, theological and family spirituality perspective. She conducted interviews with families, and provided liturgical resources as well as a small group study for a church setting so that the church can provide more complete support of adoptive families. She concluded that the understanding of adoption has changed throughout the generations, and the theological view of adoption is the core of self-understanding in the Christian community.
