Abstract
  • This dissertation hypothesized that Roman Catholics, or persons originally raised Roman Catholic, present characteristic issues when they are in psychotherapy based on the particular way their psychosocial development affects and is affected by their religious upbringing. The investigation was undertaken by means of an in-depth clinical case study of Roman Catholic women who had experienced the sense of being called to religious life. The mutual influence of spiritual and psychosocial growth was illustrated by means of the case material within the limits of the case study methodology. The conclusions are presented as well as the comments of the religious sisters who were interviewed, and suggestions are made for further study.
