Abstract
  • The writer was drawn to the life and ministry of our Lord as a platform from which to promote healthy spiritual growth. The writer combined a desire to promote growth through preaching from the gospels and passion for the disciplines into a project that draws the two together. The topic of spirituality was explored widely, and the gospels were read repeatedly to see how the spiritual life was stressed therein. The disciplines highlighted were 1) Bible intake, 2) prayer, 3) fasting, 4) solitude, 5) submission, 6) worship/celebration, and 7) generosity. These were addressed as means of nurturing sincere devotion to God and placing believers in the path towards maturity.
