Abstract
  • This study was conducted to show that the church must commit itself to assume an active role in education, in politics, and in human relations with its members. It was hoped that the research would determine the inevitability of the need for and commitment to community action for the growth and development of the total person. It was expected also that research would show that this is especially true as it relates to Black churches. A questionnaire was distributed to determine how many Black churches have developed and implemented special programs to support the social development of Blacks.
