- Abstract
- This project trained church members in the skills necessary for doing effective hospital visitation. Training was by means of lecture, role play, discussion and reflection. Evaluation of the course was done by participants and by leader. The course drew heavily from clinical pastoral education. The project was successful in helping participants identify their own weaknesses in visitation, and helped them understand issues of hospital etiquette, empathy, and using reflective language.
