- Abstract
- This project examines the impact of the liturgical catechesis of the Orthodox Lamentation Celebration on faith development in terms of Thomas Groome's shared Christian praxis approach. The purpose is threefold: a) to outline the catechetical content of the Orthodox lamentation Celebration of Holy Saturday by examining it according to shared Christian praxis, b) to analyze the personal and interpersonal faith impact of this catechetical content on a married Greek Orthodox couple who participate in a six-week practicum of liturgical catechesis modeled according to shared Christian praxis, and c) to suggest how such a paradigm of liturgical catechesis might be used by the Greek Orthodox Church in America to develop materials for its religious education program.
