- Abstract
- The study of church growth and its application to a specific congregation is the focus of this project. Calvary Baptist Church is the project's feature and the goal will be to develop a plan for growth that will assist the church in her faithfulness to the Great Commission of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: to go, to preach, to teach, and to make disciples of all persons. Designing a two-year church growth plan will include the investigation and incorporation of a stream of church growth resources. Theologically, the plan for church growth must be built upon a solid biblical bedrock. Studies must be made of the church and community to determine the demographics of the areas targeted. Methods must be discovered and discernment made as to their feasibility for application to this ministry setting. Finally, a plan will be designed and an evaluation of the plan will be offered, to critique all that has been discovered and suggested as a means for church growth to occur. Although this project deals with a particular church, the considerations of this process would be beneficial and would provide opportunity for productive church growth.
