Abstract
  • One of the challenges facing the church in the twenty-first century is that any one congregation includes worshippers operating from both modern and postmodern worldviews. This research project proposes the possibility that liturgical elements of worship can serve to connect these worldviews. Worship theology, history, and practice are the basis for analyzing the worship practices in a particular congregation from modern and postmodern perspectives. Particular worship connections are described, as is a hermeneutics of worship that offers guidance for authentic and faithful worship during paradigm shifts.
