This project analyzes baptism by immersion as a requirement for church membership at Middleburg Baptist Church. The project utilizes four research methods: survey, interview, pretest and posttest analysis, and a five session study on baptism. Chapter one outlines the project's goals, the methodologies that assess these goals, and the setting for the project. Chapter two contains a biblical and historical overview of the rite of baptism. The third chapter looks at cultural trends and dynamics that affect Middleburg Baptist Church. Chapter four analyzes current baptismal beliefs and practices within the church.
