Abstract
  • Using two instruments developed for this project, 1,085 pastors and spouses located in the states of Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois, and the pastors in the state of Florida, were tested for their emotional and counseling needs to substantiate a new resource of assistance for their families, a telecommunication with support personnel. The study revealed many needs: of loneliness and isolation, lack of fulfillment in marriage and ministry, high levels of stress, poor relationships with district superintendents, low levels of income and education, short term pastorates, a distrust of the church political system and lack of resources for times of need.
