Abstract
  • Reconstructing the reality of the church to include women requires strength and perseverance. Feminist clergy must be empowered to remain in leadership within the church if the church is to become less oppressive of all people, particularly of women. Empowerment occurs in the context of relationships; the relational context of mutuality is the foundation of personal empowerment. The relational context can be fostered as feminist clergy allow their self to be more fully present in their role as clergy: to act out of the self-in-role. Library research, case studies, interviews constitute the method of research used.
