Abstract
  • The project developed from the premise that an approach to discipleship ministry which incorporates an emphasis upon ministry to the whole person is a more effective method of discipling new members into the life of the local congregation. The author's belief is that this is best accomplished by viewing discipleship ministry through the lens of pastoral care. The focus in this project is upon training church members (disciples) to provide meaningful initial interaction (discipling) with new members (disciples) which flows from an understanding of discipleship that is wholistic. The result of the project is trained teams to assist in the assimilation of new members.
