- Abstract
- This project reconsiders the content of what the church teaches to those being assimilated into the local congregation. Historically, classroom teaching has concentrated on an outline of essential Christian doctrines while preaching has relied primarily on the telling of the Good News of Jesus. The early church did the exact opposite among those whom they taught and preached. This study compares several models for adult instruction, recommending a course of study that teaches both Bible content and Christian doctrine in a manner similar to that of the early church.
