Abstract
  • This dissertation presents a model for ministry which incorporates faith development insights in the specific milieu of Marine Corps recruit training. The research presents insights from the disciplines of sociology, theology and psychology. These insights outline a paradigm for understanding faith which is applied in the areas of worship, religious education, counseling and mentoring. Faith as understood by the church has always been implicitly developmental but only in recent times have we made it explicit. Applying faith development insights can dramatically enhance ministry among young people in transition.
