Abstract
  • This project supplements preaching delivery, understood as a lecture, with a variety of teaching methods. Preaching is defined as the proclamation of the Word of God through lecturing. Historically, within the author's Methodist tradition, preaching has been a lecture--totally void of narrative, illustrations or even questions. Within recent years a variety of teaching methods have been incorporated into preaching delivery but the use of these methods has seldom been questioned or even tested. This project assumes that preaching delivery needs to move beyond the lecture by supplementing it with a variety of teaching methods.
