Abstract
  • This thesis maintains that a Bible camp with a theological focus will be a more positive experience for both staff and campers. It includes a brief historical overview of those with a mental handicap and examines Christian anthropology, ecclesiology, and the healing miracles of Jesus and their implications for those with a mental handicap. The focus is an orientation for volunteers and a Bible camp program field tested over a 10-year period. Taped interviews with persons having contact and limited contact with mentally handicapped persons, counselors, volunteers and campers are part of the project.
