Abstract
  • The church has a responsibility and an opportunity to make the public worship service a more meaningful experience by replacing announcements in the Sunday bulletin with a brief statement of the day's worship theme and an explanation of the scripture readings. The author conducted a survey of Lutheran congregations in central Florida to test the theory that worship helps in the Sunday bulletin increases the comprehension of participants in the service. Although the results were inconclusive, the projcet did stimulate interest in participating congregations in more meaningful worship.
