Abstract
  • The practical component of this project is to build a model of reconciliation that will equip the ecumenically minded Christian with the language and strategies to reach out in dialogue. In order to discover the prominent features of our model, this project begins with a careful analysis of the diversities inherent in the early church from its origins. By learning from the polemics of the past, and the dynamic interactions between the heresiologists and gnostic sects, one may enhance a 'ministry of reconciliation' and exert 'every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.'
